About The Position

The team is seeking a Firmware Integration Engineer focused on thermal systems and sensor integration. This individual will serve as the bridge between firmware/software and hardware, working closely with Systems Engineers and Controls Engineers within the Thermal team. The Systems Engineer serves as the hardware counterpart, while the Controls Engineer develops the control logic and software that this engineer will validate and integrate.

Requirements

• Strong C programming expertise
• Automotive industry experience
• Experience working with sensors
• Understanding of firmware integration and validation
• Experience with CAN/LAN/Ethernet
• Jira experience
• GitHub experience for bug tracking and collaboration

Nice To Haves

• Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) background
• Experience with thermal systems
• Experience working alongside Systems and Controls Engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Own the integration of firmware with hardware systems.
• Execute testing at both the bench and vehicle level.
• Validate controls developed by Controls Engineers, including: Temperature sensors, Motor-operated air vents, Other thermal system components
• Implement and troubleshoot DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and fault codes.
• Provide feedback to Controls Engineers around control performance/functionality.
• Translate higher-level system requirements from Systems Engineers into integration and test requirements.
• Identify hardware and software issues, document findings, and drive issue resolution through Jira.
• Utilize GitHub for bug tracking and code-related issue management.
