About The Position

This position is for a technical leader with a strong passion for low-level firmware and a solid understanding of electrical and optical physical-layer systems. The Firmware Engineer will design and develop firmware that bridges high-speed electrical SerDes, silicon photonics, and optical subsystems. The role works closely with firmware engineers, hardware designers, system architects, and validation teams to enable robust control, calibration, and optimization of next-generation SerDes solutions integrating advanced photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and high-performance electrical interfaces.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of firmware development experience.
• Prior experience developing firmware for high-speed SerDes systems across electrical and optical domains.
• Programming skills in C and C++.
• Knowledge of physical-layer specifications in PCIe and IEEE 802.3.
• Experience working on Aurora Firmware.
• Bare-metal chip experience and Zephyr RTOS experience.
• C/C++ experience and basic C object-oriented programming.
• Experience with Ethernet, electrical or optical transceivers, or CMIS.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to use hardware debugging tools such as JTAG, I2C bus analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with source control and build management.
• Experience with optical transceivers is preferred.
