About The Position

Torch Technologies Inc., is looking for a Firmware Engineer that will be a critical position responsible for conducting detailed firmware analysis, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of firmware systems. This position requires experience in firmware analysis tools, including Questa, and a deep understanding of static firmware analysis, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC). In this role you will play a key role in supporting firmware development and validation efforts, providing actionable insights, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and report vulnerabilities effectively. Requirements

  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years’ applicable experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Proven experience in firmware analysis tools, including Questa and Questa Inspect.
  • Understanding static firmware analysis, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC).
  • Experience identifying and reporting vulnerabilities within firmware systems.
  • Experience in c/c++/java/python/vhdl/html/matlab.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for firmware development and validation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with defense or aerospace firmware systems.
  • Knowledge of firmware analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies for firmware vulnerabilities.
  • Strong documentation skills to maintain detailed records of analysis processes and findings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed firmware analysis using tools to ensure system integrity and reliability.
  • Demonstrable practical experience with FPGA tools & technologies
  • Perform static firmware analysis, design and verification including requirements capture, simulation, code coverage, synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis
  • Identify, document, and report vulnerabilities within firmware systems, providing actionable recommendations for resolution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure firmware meets performance, functionality, and compliance standards.
  • Provide technical support for firmware validation and testing efforts.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of firmware analysis processes, findings, and recommendations.
  • Stay up to date with emerging firmware analysis techniques and tools, actively suggesting improvements.
