About The Position

The Firmware Engineer Intern will develop low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, integrate system-level features, and architect changes to support an expanding codebase. The intern will quickly debug and troubleshoot issues across electrical, firmware, and software boundaries. This is a 12-week, in-person internship in one of Anduril’s offices in summer 2027.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Must return to school after the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on the program.
• Must be able to complete a 12-week in-person internship at one of the company’s offices in summer 2027.

Nice To Haves

• Solid C coding ability for embedded systems.
• Some experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital designs.
• Some experience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
• Solid understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging.
• Some familiarity with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, and Ethernet.
• Experience with one or more microcontroller cores, such as ARM, AVR, MSP430, or PIC.
• Some experience debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
• A bias for action and motivation to solve and fix problems.
• Natural curiosity about the technologies and tools used.
