Must obtain and maintain an Alabama Department of Public Health Office of EMS Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license within three years of employment. A current Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certificate that is valid for a period of not less than 6 months and maintained until completion of Firefighter I/II. If applicant does not have CPAT, candidate may participate in the testing process; however, must obtain CPAT prior to an offer being extended if applicable. Must obtain and maintain certification as a Firefighter I/II by the Alabama Fire College and Personnel Standards Commission within one year of employment and become licensed paramedic within 3 years of employment.
