About The Position

The Industrial Firefighter/EMT provides fire suppression, emergency medical care, fire alarm investigation, prevention support, initial hazardous materials response, and other authorized emergency services at the Panasonic industrial facility. The role operates under the direction of a Fire Captain or designated officer and follows RMF policies and the approved site emergency response plan. The Firefighter/EMT maintains operational readiness through training, facility and hazard familiarization, equipment care, safe teamwork, and accurate reporting. The position responds to authorized emergencies, performs assigned suppression and rescue-support tasks within training and scope, and provides emergency medical care at the Kansas EMT level under current medical oversight and approved protocols. It includes inspecting and maintaining assigned PPE, SCBA, apparatus, medical supplies, tools, and communications and detection equipment; completing records; supporting station readiness and shift handoffs; and assisting with drills, prevention education, pre-incident planning, inspections, and after-action reviews. This is a full-time hourly, safety-sensitive position. Standard shifts are expected to be 12 hours and may rotate between days and nights. Weekends, holidays, overtime, schedule changes, and occasional training travel may be required. Advanced HazMat mitigation, technical rescue, confined-space entry, rope rescue, and specialty apparatus operation are outside baseline expectations unless the employee is appropriately trained, equipped, and specifically authorized under the site response plan.
