About The Position

Responds to all fire, rescue, medical, and other calls for service up to and including Advanced Life Support/Mobile Integrated Health depending on certification. Sustains a high level of preparedness for emergencies, and maintains station, vehicles and equipment for fire suppression/prevention.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic firefighter certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection AND EMT or Paramedic Certification OR Paramedic certification OR Hold certification with a fire or EMS agency in another state that has reciprocity with the State of Texas or IFSAC seal and/or National Registry
• Once assigned by the department, you must be able to successfully complete courses, obtain and retain TCFP Basic Fire Certification, EMT, EMT-A, Paramedic, and/or successfully complete our medical director credentialing process.
• Valid Texas Class "B" Drivers License with good driving record within one (1) year of employment.
• A COMPLETED POLYGRAPH PACKET MUST BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION.

Nice To Haves

• Paramedic certification preferred.
• Applicants who will have Paramedic certification test results (DSHS or National Registry) by 10/15 will be considered.
