The Iqaluit Fire Department is establishing a Firefighter Eligibility Pool. The number of firefighters hired from the Pool may differ as the number of vacancies available is based on attrition due to retirements and staff turnover. Under the direction of the Chief Officers, the incumbent(s) will report to their immediate supervisor, and are responsible for fire/rescue response, pre-hospital emergency medical care, fire prevention, public education, fire inspection and other duties as assigned. The incumbent(s) will also be responsible for performing minor maintenance of apparatus, small equipment, building and grounds, and call taking / dispatching appropriate emergency and non-emergency personnel.
