About The Position

This is a part-time position for a Firearms Specialist in a retail store. The role involves customer service, merchandise management, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with firearms regulations. A key aspect of the role is training other staff on various aspects of firearms sales and record-keeping.

Requirements

• Good understanding of A&D log requirements and best practices.
• Knowledge of filing of denied and no transfer 4473s.
• Knowledge of standardized filing of completed 4473s.
• Understanding of what an AR is and how a multiple sale is recorded.
• Knowledge of multiple handgun sales and proper recording.
• Ability to make proper corrections on a 4473 by employees and customers.
• Knowledge of acceptable forms of identification customers can use.
• Understanding of when a sale should be refused.
• Understanding of what constitutes a “Straw Sale” and how to complete.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with customer service questions.
• Price store merchandise and make price changes.
• Stock and face merchandise on shelves.
• Assist in receiving freight and organizing incoming products.
• Assist in cycle counts.
• Keep store prepared for ATF and/or internal audits.
• Assist in training other staff on A&D log requirements, filing of 4473s (denied, no transfer, completed), understanding ARs and multiple sales recording, handgun sales recording, making corrections on 4473s, acceptable forms of identification, refusing sales, and identifying/handling "Straw Sales".
