About The Position

Responsible for firearm inventory and maintaining the FFL’s compliance standards set forth by the ATF and PSA. Assist the store management team with store operations. Other responsibilities include gun counter sales, used firearms, firearm displays, and other duties as required. This position is primarily responsible for the day to day operations of the gunroom including but not limited to accurate and efficient acquisitions, dispositions and inventorying. Attention to detail is essential for success in this position as the successful Firearms Manager is solely responsible in this role in all aspects relating to the Gunroom, including compliance with ATF.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma is required.
  • Must have at least 9 months’ experience in retail or service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of firearms, ATF compliance, and customer service skills required.
  • Proficient skills with computers, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Able to lead, motivate, mentor, communicate and generally interact with people in a positive way.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; looks for continuous improvement and implementation.
  • Sound decision making abilities and takes responsibility.
  • Able to train others and demonstrate strong leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication both orally and written.
  • Positive attitude, goal driven, and focused on the overall strategic picture of the organization.
  • Required to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Control all aspects of the acquisition and disposition process for all firearms as required by ATF and PSA regulations.
  • Maintain the gun room in appearance and inventory.
  • Complete accurate paperwork and transactions according to company policies and procedures, to include 4473 paperwork and redundancies.
  • Complete inventory counts as needed.
  • Recognize and identify where there are areas a staff member needs coaching and/or development.
  • Determining, distributing, and directing workload for gun counter as needed.
  • Act on the behalf of the Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
  • Create an outstanding buying experience for the customer.
  • Assist with all functions within a retail store.
  • Putting the guns on display and maintaining their presentation.
  • Execute floor leadership—own the gun counter with the management team.
  • Work with the Sales Associates to problem solve any customer issues.
  • Work with store management in opening, closing and operating the retail facility, including but not limited to cash handling and deposits.
  • Working interdepartmentally to continually improve operations and grow our business.
  • Facilitate change and new program implementation by effectively communicating new direction from corporate level by explanation, clarification and implementation of new programs to maintain compliance, gain efficiencies, increase sales, and grow profits.
  • Assist in other tasks, duties, or projects as assigned by management.
