About The Position

A fire watch is the person or persons responsible for continuously observing hot work activity to detect and respond to fires during hot work operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Phoenix on-site training as required
  • Ability to kneel, crawl, bend, and or climb without assistance
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in extreme heat or cold weather/environmental conditions
  • Compliance with all Phoenix Global Safety Policies & Procedures, including wearing specific Personal Protective Equipment required for various job functions.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen.
  • Must be willing to work assigned shift

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring firefighting equipment is ready
  • Keeping the area free of combustible materials
  • Watching for sparks, slag, or heat sources
  • Warning workers if there's an excessive risk of fire
  • Extinguishing small fires immediately
  • Calling emergency services if necessary
  • Handling components, modules, and systems of heavy equipment
  • Converting heavy equipment with various mobile accessories
  • Observing relevant safety, accident prevention, and environmental regulations
  • Perform routine and Pre/ Post Trip inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to the supervisor.
  • Clean equipment
  • Maintain and protect all property.
  • Maintain all required certifications required by OSHA and company safety programs.
  • Provide outstanding customer service operations.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
