About The Position

Atlantic Emergency Solutions is hiring a diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair fire trucks and ambulances used by first responders. The position is based in Wilder, Kentucky, in an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed. The shop is described as clean, compliant, and organized, and the role offers a consistent Monday-through-Friday schedule with no rotating shifts. Overtime may be available. The work includes diesel engines and vehicle systems such as electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems. The mechanic documents repairs, labor time, and parts usage, completes safety inspections, and helps ensure vehicles are ready for service. The role also requires maintaining a safe work area, following OSHA and company safety standards, and working with other technicians as needed.

Requirements

Diesel mechanic experience; heavy-duty or emergency-vehicle experience is preferred.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, crouch, and climb.

Nice To Haves

Heavy-duty or emergency-vehicle mechanic experience.

Responsibilities
