THIS IS A FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION CONCENTRATING ON REGIONAL/FIELD BASED LOGISTICS TRAINING IN EITHER NORTHEAST OR NORTHWEST OHIO.

Requirements

• Certified as Public Safety Instructor in firefighting by Department of Public Safety pursuant to Section 4765.55 of Revised Code
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Instructs & evaluates students in the Ohio Fire Academy's various training programs on campus and regionally across the state.
• Coordinates technical programs such as Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Instructor, Live Fire, and other bureau-specific trainings from code updates, fireworks training and underground storage tank inspector training.
• Counsels' students & conducts skill testing (i.e. IFSAC Accreditation) & specialized training programs.
• Reviews, analyzes, & evaluates programs, methods, materials, & equipment to ensure compliance with NFPA standards. (e.g., makes recommendations to improve lesson plans, assists in setting up resident programs, provides input for new course development & updates current courses.
• Tracks & maintains student course records.
