About The Position

We are seeking a Fire Suppression Technician who will be tasked with installing and testing anything related to gaseous or special hazard Fire suppression systems, including repairs, deficiency corrections, or test and inspections. The ideal candidate will be deadline oriented and dependable. This role involves maintaining a professional appearance, communicating effectively with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and providing an aggressive and proactive approach to satisfy client needs. The technician will also be responsible for follow-up, time management, and meeting deadlines. A good working knowledge of all tools, equipment, and materials necessary to successfully complete tasks is essential. The role may also involve assisting with design, layout, field surveys, and client meetings to secure bids, interpreting shop and contract drawings, and ensuring accurate procurement of materials and equipment. Completing service-related paperwork and timely communication with supervisors regarding service issues or improvements are also key responsibilities. Daily work orders need to be reviewed for accuracy, and all tasks on service repairs, deficiencies, and required tests and inspections must be performed. The technician will also assist clients and other technicians with after-hours emergency or service calls and must be able to work long hours when necessary.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • NICET II or equivalent - Special Hazard Suppression Systems
  • Fluent with fire suppression control panels, agent storage containers, installation practices, service and repair practices, and job requirements and specifications.
  • Minimum of one to three years hands on experience in special hazard fire suppression systems.
  • Proficient in DynaFire office hardware and software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with design, layout, field surveys, and client meetings as needed to secure a bid when requested by management.
  • Understanding and applying all applicable NFPA codes, especially NFPA 2001.
  • Interpreting shop and contract drawings regarding scope of work.
  • Ensuring the accurate procurement of material, equipment, and supplies needed for a task.
  • Completing service-related paperwork.
  • Communicating timely to the supervisor for any service related issues or improvements.
  • Reviewing daily work orders for accuracy.
  • Performing all tasks on service repairs, deficiencies, and required tests and inspections.
  • Assisting clients and other technicians in after-hour emergency or service based calls.
  • Working long hours when necessary.
