About The Position

Guardian Fire Protection is currently hiring Apprentice for the Fire Sprinkler division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand and essential trade. Guardian will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician. We are looking for hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that can provide a well paying income with training, certification and years of quality hard work.

Requirements

  • A current valid driver's license with 3 or less points.
  • Three years of licensed driving experience.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.
  • Willing to work varied hours, nights, early morning and weekend shift when needed.
  • Capable and willing to learn and study about the different fire sprinkler systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12ft and on lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
  • Skills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
  • Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.
  • Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.

Responsibilities

  • Learn a growing and in-demand trade.
  • Become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician.
  • Work with various hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.
  • Work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends when needed.
  • Study fire sprinkler systems to pass tests and become certified.
  • Work on ladders (6 to 12ft) and lifts.
  • Lift up to 70lbs.
  • Work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
  • Communicate well with customers, explaining work being done and necessary repairs.
  • Write detailed reports on service work.
  • Maintain organization and track service tickets.
  • Process all required documents for each service performed.
