About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to join their team. This role involves receiving service calls, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and performing repairs on various sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial applications. The technician will work with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump systems. The position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems.
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Must adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirements of the company and the customer.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center with a description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial applications, including wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures, technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Work independently.
