This role involves receiving service calls, diagnosing and repairing sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. These include wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps. The technician will interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manuals, demonstrate strong customer service skills, and work independently. They will follow troubleshooting procedures and maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs. Safety guidelines and procedures must be strictly adhered to at all times.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems
  • Computer/phone skills - Word, Excel, Outlook and mobile apps and functions
  • Ability to perform service work on all water-based fire protection systems
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial and residential applications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Perform physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Follow, read and understand all safety requirements of the company and the customer.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
