About The Position

Ahern, a family-owned business with over 145 years of experience, is a leading mechanical and fire protection contractor known for quality, innovation, job stability, career progression, and employee support. This exciting opportunity is for a Fire Sprinkler Sales Project Manager located in Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating new construction projects and upgrades to existing fire sprinkler systems. You will leverage your persuasion and relationship management skills to develop and grow a customer base. Your project management abilities will be applied to performing preliminary design and calculations for bid estimates, preparing pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication, and seeking competitive vendors and services to ensure Ahern’s fire protection projects are competitively bid. You will also prepare scope and quotation letters for customers, maintain monthly estimate logs, meet with management to discuss estimating backlog and due dates, participate in turnover meetings, and assist with customer follow-up, actively managing projects in conjunction with the designer and construction superintendent.

Requirements

  • Five-plus years of fire protection contracting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate new construction projects for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Estimate upgrades to existing customers' fire sprinkler systems.
  • Develop and grow a customer base.
  • Perform preliminary design and calculations for bid estimates.
  • Prepare pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication.
  • Seek out competitive vendors and services to assure that Ahern’s fire protection projects are competitively bid.
  • Prepare scope and quotation letters for customers.
  • Maintain monthly estimate logs.
  • Meet with management on a regular basis to discuss current estimating backlog and due dates.
  • Participate in turnover meetings as required.
  • Assist with any follow-up information with the customer as is requested.
  • Assume an active role in managing the projects in conjunction with the designer and construction superintendent.
