About The Position

The Fire Sprinkler Project Field Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of fire sprinkler installation, retrofit, and service projects. This position ensures all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company quality expectations. The Supervisor acts as the primary on-site leader for field crews, coordinating with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project management teams to deliver exceptional results.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of fire sprinkler installation experience
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and related fire protection standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving field challenges.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
  • Work in various environments including active construction sites and occupied facilities.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple job sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Fire Protection, or related field
  • NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • State-issued fire sprinkler license (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate field crews on installation and retrofit projects for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 13, local fire codes, and project specifications.
  • Manage daily work schedules, manpower assignments, and job site logistics.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify quality workmanship and progress.
  • Oversee system hydrostatic testing, final inspections, and project close-out.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop field installers, fitters, and apprentices.
  • Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and problem-solving support.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, contractors, and inspectors.
  • Participate in project kickoff, coordination, and progress meetings.
  • Resolve on-site issues promptly and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, material usage, and project changes.
  • Prepare and submit field reports, change orders, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure that inspection and testing documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate delivery, storage, and staging of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor project costs and control waste or rework.
  • Verify that all equipment is properly maintained and returned after use.
