About The Position

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, sprinklers, and industrial processing systems. The role includes installing pipe fittings, hangers, couplings, and sprinklers according to design plans and applicable codes to protect buildings. The fitter completes required weekly paperwork and daily progress reports, communicates with designers about design changes and material shortages, produces red-line drawings, and informs field and project leadership about project or schedule changes. The position also involves attending project and coordination meetings as required, promptly reporting incidents, and training fitters and helpers in proper installation techniques.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Basic computer skills, including email.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, sprinklers, and industrial processing systems.
• Install pipe fittings, hangers, couplings, and sprinklers according to design plans and codes.
• Complete required weekly paperwork for Century Fire Protection and as directed by the General Contractor.
• Communicate with the designer before making design changes and report material shortages.
• Produce red-line drawings for the designer.
• Communicate project and schedule changes to the Field Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Attend project and coordination meetings as required.
• Complete and submit daily progress reports to the Field Superintendent and General Contractor as required.
• Immediately document and report water damage, injuries, and accidents to the Field Superintendent and General Manager.
• Train fitters and helpers in proper installation techniques.
