About The Position

This role involves the design of automatic fire sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial applications. The designer will be responsible for site surveys, field routing of piping, drafting, hydraulic calculations, AHJ submittals, and material listing. The position also includes assisting the Design Manager with oversight, training, and mentoring of design staff, preparing O&M Manuals and As Builts, preparing stocklists/fabrication reports, and providing technical assistance throughout the project lifecycle (bidding, design, permitting, and construction). Collaboration with clients, consultants, and project personnel is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • Experienced in the design of automatic fire sprinkler systems to include site-survey, field routing of piping, drafting, hydraulic calculations, AHJ submittals, and material listing.
  • Proficient with AutoCad, HydraCad, or AutoSprink programs.
  • Three years’ experience in fire sprinkler design.
  • AutoSPRINK experience required.
  • Must be familiar with NFPA standards and FM Global guidelines.
  • Technical understanding of fire sprinkler design including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II or higher certification preferred.
  • Texas RME-G license a plus.
