About The Position

This position involves working under direct supervision to learn and demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment. The apprentice will assist with materials handling and the installation of materials, devices, and equipment. The role includes on-the-job learning as part of an apprenticeship program, requiring attendance in classes and satisfactory progress towards program completion. The job involves working in various elements and at different heights, requiring the use of ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts. Protective personal equipment (PPE) must be worn. Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Provide I-9 documents to establish work eligibility
  • Evidence of High School Diploma or GED; high school transcript, if necessary
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • DD 214 (if veteran)
  • Must be able to demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret instructions, sprinkler drawings, & manuals
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity

  • May be required to operate heavy equipment

Responsibilities

  • Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions at the job site
  • Maintain the job site in a safe, neat and orderly condition
  • Handle and stage materials, equipment and tools
  • Assist with sprinkler system layout and installation
  • Operate cutting and threading machine (Rigid 300)
  • Assist with cable tray installations, device installations, and lighting connections
  • Receive On-the-job learning (OJL) as part of the apprenticeship program
  • Attend class & make satisfactory progress with apprenticeship program completion
  • Safely operate hand and power tools
  • Legally operate company vehicles and equipment
