Job Summary: Fire sprinkler apprentices assist senior technicians in the installation and service of fire sprinkler systems, while receiving on the job training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a fire protection or plumbing vocational program is preferred.
• 6 months fire sprinkler experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, or construction is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and system designs.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in the industry
• Strong observational skills to ensure accurate installation according to specifications.
• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines precisely.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of fire sprinkler systems: Handle tools and equipment under supervision. Measure, cut, and thread pipes according to specifications. Assist in the assembly and installation of pipes, valves, and fittings. Support the mounting and positioning of sprinkler heads.
• Collaborate with installation team: Work closely with senior technicians to ensure efficient installation processes. Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the team. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.
• Conduct pre-installation preparations: Assist in reviewing blueprints and system designs. Prepare the work area by clearing obstacles and ensuring accessibility. Help gather necessary tools, materials, and equipment for the installation.
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations: Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Comply with industry standards and local fire codes during installations. Report any safety concerns or incidents to senior technicians.
• Learn and develop technical skills: Actively engage in training sessions and workshops related to fire sprinkler installation. Familiarize yourself with different types of fire sprinkler systems and their components. Seek guidance from senior team members to enhance your knowledge and skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
