About The Position

Symons Fire Protection, Inc. is a premier, full-service fire-life safety contractor with over 30 years of experience in the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of residential and commercial fire sprinkler and fire alarm/low voltage systems across Southern California. We are seeking a dedicated Fire Sprinkler Apprentice to support our growing team and uphold our commitment to operational excellence, high-quality craftsmanship, and unwavering safety standards.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on fire sprinkler installation or construction trade experience with a proven ability to read blueprints.
• Current OSHA 10 Card (or willingness to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment).
• Able to obtain Blaze Master Installation Training Card (or willingness to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment).
• Strong communication skills (must be able to read, write, and speak English for jobsite safety instructions).
• Reliable attendance.
• Basic familiarity using mobile devices for field tracking.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (needed to operate company vehicles).
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds; stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the workday; safely operate hand and power tools; and distinguish colors for accurate system component identification.

Responsibilities

• Safely install residential (CPVC/plastic) and commercial (steel) fire sprinkler systems.
• Interpret blueprints, construction plans, and layouts accurately.
• Install, modify, and troubleshoot fire sprinkler piping networks according to NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D standards.
• Work independently while maintaining high productivity and clean craftsmanship.
• Represent Symons professionally when talking with builders, inspectors, and jobsite superintendents.
