About The Position

The Fire Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, reviewing inspection forms, and conducting site surveys. This role also involves completing service requests at various locations. The inspector will ensure fire alarm and sprinkler systems function effectively and meet NFPA standards, making necessary adjustments or repairs. They will also coordinate with local fire departments, adhere to safety policies, and document NFPA testing for clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to be on your feet for long hours
  • Ability to walk great distances
  • Ability to climb multi-story stairs

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test fire alarm systems to ensure they function effectively and meet NFPA standards.
  • Adjust or repair malfunctioning systems.
  • Perform basic sprinkler inspection service.
  • Schedule fire alarm and fire sprinkler system inspections.
  • Run tests and inspections on fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Coordinate with the local fire department to avoid response to testing.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and complete NFPA testing documents for clients.
  • Repair systems if necessary or inform the Service Department of customer needs.
  • Advise customers of test and inspection results.
  • Other duties as assigned.
