The Fire Safety Coordinator inspects UF Buildings, Fraternities and Sororities for Fire Code Compliance and prepares reports for correction of code violations. This role reviews Fire Alarm Activity Logs to ensure proper maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with UF’s False Alarm Reduction program. The position supervises and assists with the Enhanced Radio System monitoring of all campus buildings and provides assistance and oversight to the inspections of fire safety related items in new construction projects. Additionally, the Fire Safety Coordinator conducts public outreach for fire safety, including providing fire extinguisher use training. This position is designated as an Essential Employee for the University, as the employee’s response immediately following an emergency event in which the continuation of critical and essential services is needed.
