About The Position

Ryan Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection is hiring a Fire Protection Technician to install, repair, inspect, and maintain fire protection systems and backflow prevention devices. The technician works directly with customers, diagnoses inspection and repair needs, and provides solutions while following safety guidelines, company procedures, and management standards. The role also includes providing direction and training to a fire protection apprentice, completing daily paperwork, communicating with dispatch, and maintaining vehicles, tools, equipment, and job sites.

Requirements

• Customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
• Ability to perform tasks that include lifting, digging, climbing ladders, and entering small or confined spaces.
• Ability to lift, pull, carry, and push up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift, pull, carry, and push over 50 lbs. with assistance from others and/or equipment.
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks, which may involve overhead or awkward positioning.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, inspect, and maintain fire protection systems and backflow prevention devices.
• Follow safety guidelines on every job and use required personal protective equipment.
• Interact with customers to ensure the work performed meets their expectations.
• Accurately diagnose inspection and repair needs and offer solutions to customers.
• Wear the approved uniform and conduct oneself professionally.
• Provide direction and training to the fire protection apprentice on service calls.
• Troubleshoot minor electrical issues on sprinkler systems, including compressors, flow switches, and tamper switches.
• Problem-solve and work on time in a self-directed environment.
• Determine the correct tools and equipment needed to complete jobs successfully.
• Use electronic devices to process customer orders.
• Submit completed and necessary paperwork daily.
• Follow procedures and standards communicated by management.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Communicate with the dispatcher daily.
• Report to work on time and ready to complete the scope of work.
• Clean the job site upon completion.
