About The Position

This is a paid summer internship opportunity for a college or graduate school student in the summer of 2027. The internship is typically 12 weeks long, starting on or before June 1, 2027, and ending in mid-August. HGA is a full-service planning and design firm with over 1,000 professionals across 12 offices, offering planning, engineering, architecture, and interior design services. Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering (Fire Protection emphasis preferred), Fire Protection Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Enrolled in an ABET-accredited program.
Currently a junior, senior, or graduate student.
Experience with Revit.
Interest in fire protection, life safety, and building systems design.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Trace 3D+ is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist with the design and review of fire protection systems.
Participate in design review meetings, workshops, and project coordination activities.
Support the preparation of comprehensive fire protection design packages.
Assist with construction administration and project support activities.
Participate in site evaluations and documentation of existing fire protection systems.
Gain exposure to building code requirements, fire and life safety systems, and multidisciplinary project teams.
