Possess NICET Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems Level I or Pass NICET Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems Level I exam within 90 days of employment and Pass NICET Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems Level II exam within 180 days of employment

Responsibilities

Plan and perform testing and inspection of sprinkler, standpipe, and related water-based fire protection systems per NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and local code standards, noting existing and potential deficiencies.
Prepare accurate and timely inspection, service, and flow test reports.
Perform complete site surveys for potential PM inspections and system changes/modifications, prepare corresponding quotations.
Verify and oversee acceptance testing of new sprinkler installations, including hydrostatic, flushing, and trip tests.
Troubleshoot deficiencies in sprinkler systems, valves, fire pumps, hydrants, and backflow preventers.
Perform pre-testing and final inspections for assigned projects in coordination with GC, AHJ, and owners.
Develop and perform PITCO (Pre-Inspection Testing and Check-Out) activities for sprinkler systems prior to final acceptance.
Perform hydraulic calculations, main drain tests, fire pump performance checks, and water supply evaluations.
Create redline drawings of sprinkler layouts and riser details for as-built preparation.
Complete job-related documentation including Reports of Completion (ROC), Test Forms, Flow Test Records, and Deficiency Lists.
Ensure compliance with all applicable NFPA codes, UFC, GSA P-100, insurance, and local AHJ requirements.
Conduct research using NFPA standards, manufacturer installation manuals, and technical data sheets to determine material requirements, installation procedures, and system upgrades.
