About The Position

On behalf of our client, a premier design-build electrical and systems integration engineering powerhouse specializing in mission-critical facilities, cyber-physical security, and large-scale infrastructure, Gigantes Group is seeking a driven Fire Protection Engineer. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives in a fast-paced, integrated design-build environment, overseeing fire protection and life safety design packages from initial concept through commission and turnover.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
4–8+ years of professional engineering experience in fire protection system design, preferably within a design-build or MEP consulting firm.
Active EIT status required.
High proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and standard fire protection calculation software (e.g., HydraCAD, HASS).

Nice To Haves

An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
Experience with mission-critical facilities, data centers, government/federal projects, or large industrial environments is a major plus.

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering and design of complete fire suppression, fire detection, mass notification, and life safety systems for complex facilities.
Develop detailed 3D models and production drawings in Revit, coordinating spatial constraints across multi-discipline MEP and structural teams.
Perform hydraulic calculations, agent flow calculations, and smoke control analyses in strict accordance with NFPA and local building codes.
Provide expert code consulting, interpret life safety requirements, and interface directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and client representatives.
Collaborate with field operations teams to support system testing, site inspections, and final turnover activities.
