Fire Protection Engineer II
About The Position
The Fire Protection Engineer designs and implements fire protection alarm and suppression systems to ensure safety and compliance with fire safety regulations in various environments. The Engineer will work closely with architects, engineers and builders to integrate fire protection systems into building designs during the construction phase. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Requirements
- Experience in Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including multi-disciplined design teams
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform calculations and design fire alarm, fire suppression, and life safety systems
- Prepare specifications based on design
- Review design drawings in relation to plans and specifications
- Analyze potential fire hazards in buildings and new designs providing recommendations
- Ensure all fire protections systems meet local, state, and federal fire codes and standards.
- Stay updated on fire safety technologies and techniques, conducting experiments and field tests to evaluate new systems and materials.
- Meet with owners and understand project requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
