The Fire Protection designer will lead Revit production, drafting coordination, and construction documents for fire protection systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors including DOD, Federal and Private Space Industry projects. This position is offered in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. In this role, you will: Lead Revit production and preparation of fire protection construction documents for multiple projects. Produce complex floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, details, and equipment layouts for new and renovation projects. Work independently with minimal oversight. Coordinate Revit models with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines. Discuss design during architect/client design review meetings and coordinate design development. Lead clash detection and resolution coordination issues during design development. Manage drawing deliverables, deadlines, and production priorities for assigned projects. Prepare design calculations and selection of equipment for building fire protection systems. Write and edit fire protection specifications, engineering reports, and other technical design documentation. Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards and apply requirements to project designs. Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, punch walks, field revisions, and as-built updates. Operational Responsibilities Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal standards, training, and quality control procedures. Support proposals, bid site visits, and business development efforts as needed.
