Location: Long Beach, CA or Seattle, WA Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 remote) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000 We are seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer with 5–9 years of experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5–9 years of experience in fire protection system design (sprinkler and/or fire alarm)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with sprinkler calculation software (e.g., AutoSPRINK, HydraCALC)
  • Strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and NFPA standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare, education, and/or federal projects
  • Master’s degree in Fire Protection
  • Exposure to project management or business development
  • EIT or PE license
  • NICET certification (Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm)

Responsibilities

  • Perform fire and building code analysis
  • Design fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and specialized suppression systems
  • Develop system layouts and construction documents
  • Perform sprinkler hydraulic calculations and fire alarm calculations
  • Conduct site assessments and prepare technical reports
  • Support senior engineers with engineering analyses (e.g., smoke control, hazardous materials, energy storage systems, combustible dust)
  • Provide construction phase support, including: Responding to RFIs, Reviewing submittents, Participating in punch walks
