Under general direction from the Fire Chief, provides effective leadership within the organization and specifically the Fire Prevention Division. Supervises, plans, directs, and evaluates the administrative and support aspects of the Prevention Division. The responsibilities under this Division include Fire investigations, Fire Inspections, Plans Review, Code Enforcement, Public Education, and Special Programs. As the Fire Marshal for the Fire Department, assures the enforcement and compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines related to fire prevention and investigations. When necessary, directs the activities of others during emergency incidents safety and with accountability in the capacities of Safety Officer, Occupant Services Liaison, and PIO. Part of the Emergency Management Team. May act as a Fire Department representative in the absence of the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chief of Operations, or Battalion Chiefs as needed.
