About The Position

Guardian Security Services is seeking professional Fire Life Safety Directors to support a commercial property in New York City. The position is ideal for individuals who demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a polished, professional demeanor appropriate for a commercial environment. Guardian Service Industries, established in 1918, is a fourth-generation family-owned company providing Security, Janitorial, Engineering, Pest Control, and Facility Support Services. We support more than 1,000 properties across the East Coast, New England, and Florida, including commercial buildings, residential communities, transportation hubs, schools, and government facilities. Our Security Officers play an important role in maintaining safe, welcoming, and professionally managed environments for tenants, visitors, and building staff.

Requirements

Valid New York State Security Guard License
Valid T89 License or F89 License
Minimum 1 years FLSD Experience
Prior experience in residential buildings, corporate buildings
Strong communication and customer service skills
Professional appearance and polished demeanor
Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for tenants, guests, and vendors
Monitor building access points and maintain awareness of building activity
Respond to emergencies and alarms (Supervisory, Trouble and fire) promptly and professionally
Manning the command station as well as the lobby desk
Assist with package handling and vendor deliveries when required
Maintain control and documentation of building
Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
Making announcements
Enforce building policies while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
Carrying out EAP and fire plans when necessary
