About The Position

ProSidian seeks a Fire Inspector for Program Support on an Exempt 1099 Contract basis. This role involves supporting geographically dispersed naval engineering facilities requiring coordinated fire protection, life safety, and modernization support. The position is aligned with GSA Labor Category: Junior Consultant and focuses on Engineering Services Program Support for Navy | NIWC Fire Protection Engineer Services and Support. Candidates with relevant Defense and National Security Sector Experience are sought. This is a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) position, with the possibility of conversion to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position. The role is principally focused on Existing Facility Fire and Life Safety Evaluation.

Requirements

Facility fire inspection and code-application experience.
Fire science, fire protection or related technical education and inspection experience recommended.
Site observation, egress assessment, fire protection system recognition, photographs, checklists, deficiency documentation.
Observational accuracy, safe site conduct, objective reporting, risk awareness, coordination with facility personnel.

Nice To Haves

Applicable fire inspector certification is desirable. Does not replace QFPE credentials.
Historical candidate minimum: bachelor’s degree and 10 years; verify current terms.

Responsibilities

Provide Defense and National Security Sector related Hybrid – On/Off Client Site and Virtual Engineering Services for Navy | NIWC Fire Protection Engineer Services and Support as a Labor Category: Junior Consultant.
When existing-facility work is tasked, collect observations on life safety and fire protection conditions.
Compare conditions with approved criteria and report deficiencies to the lead engineer.
Support follow-up evaluations.
