About The Position

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Fire Alarm Inspector to join their growing Life Safety team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting fire alarm and life safety systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with NFPA standards, local fire codes, and life safety regulations while delivering exceptional customer service. Due to an increased volume of inspection work and continued business growth, the team is adding an additional Fire Alarm Inspector to help support existing customer demand and maintain service excellence.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of experience inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 13, and local fire code requirements.
  • Experience identifying deficiencies and documenting inspection findings.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Highly Preferred)
  • NICET Level III Certification
  • Experience with commercial fire alarm systems including: Notifier, Siemens, Edwards/EST, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Prior low-voltage or electrical experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction or data center projects
  • Firefighter, military, or field service background

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Verify compliance with NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 13, and local fire code requirements.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm system deficiencies and identify corrective actions.
  • Document inspection results, deficiencies, and service recommendations with a high level of accuracy.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Partner with customers, contractors, project teams, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Support system startups, commissioning activities, and service-related projects.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Maintain professional customer relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on life safety systems.
