About The Position

The Extinguisher Technician is responsible for the organization, maintenance, and management of the extinguisher shop, with additional responsibility supporting external service, installations, and deliveries. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality service to our customers. A take-home company vehicle is provided.

Requirements

• Experience in the repair, maintenance, and testing of portable fire extinguishers
• Working knowledge of hydrostatic testing procedures
• Ability to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned tasks
• Strong organizational and inventory management skills
• Proficiency with mobile technology platforms for documentation and reporting
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Dismantle fire extinguishers and inspect mechanical components, extinguishing agents, and discharge mechanisms
• Replace worn or damaged parts and recharge extinguishers with approved materials
• Perform hydrotesting/hydrostatic requalification of fire extinguisher cylinders
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the shop area
• Manage and track inventory of extinguisher parts and materials
• Deliver materials to field inspectors and branch locations as needed
• Install fire extinguisher cabinets and portable fire extinguishers
• Assist with extinguisher inspections in the field
