The Portables Technician is capable of independently performing core technical responsibilities related to portable fire protection equipment. This role is responsible for completing standard inspections, maintenance, and service work without direct supervision while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and company standards. The technician is expected to demonstrate strong technical competency, reliability, and customer service. Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment independently. Complete standard service calls without direct supervision while ensuring quality and compliance. P erforming testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action and deluge systems. Servicing new and old emergency lights. Conduct annual inspections, maintenance, and assist with testing as required. Inspect valves, gauges, piping, sprinkler heads, alarm connections, and related suppression system components. Perform functional testing to verify proper system operation and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures. Accurately document services performed, including tagging and reporting. Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers and supervisors. Maintain and properly use tools, equipment, and service vehicles. Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job status and findings. Maintain a high level of safety awareness and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments. Use hand tools and testing equipment. Travel to job sites as required. Other duties as assigned by management.
