About The Position

Cousino Restoration is seeking an experienced Fire Cleaning & Contents Project Manager to lead and grow our Fire Cleaning & Contents service line. This role is responsible for managing residential and commercial fire restoration projects while driving the continued growth and success of the division through exceptional customer service, operational excellence, financial accountability, and business development. In addition to overseeing projects from emergency response through final completion, the Project Manager will cultivate relationships with insurance professionals, property managers, commercial clients, and referral partners to generate new business opportunities. This individual will be responsible for helping grow revenue, improving profitability, developing team members, and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional restoration experience. The ideal candidate is a motivated restoration professional who combines strong project management skills with leadership, financial acumen, and a passion for growing the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of restoration project management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing fire, smoke, contents, and odor restoration projects.
  • Strong understanding of insurance restoration and property claims.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and managing Xactimate estimates and supplements.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop business opportunities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage residential and commercial fire, smoke, soot, odor, and contents restoration projects from emergency response through final completion.
  • Respond to emergency losses, perform initial property inspections, assess damages, and develop restoration plans.
  • Coordinate pack-outs, inventory, contents cleaning, storage, specialty cleaning, and pack-back services.
  • Schedule and oversee technicians, subcontractors, and specialty vendors.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company standards and IICRC guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance adjusters, property managers, commercial clients, contractors, and referral partners.
  • Maintain and grow a book of business through outstanding customer service and relationship management.
  • Identify opportunities to generate new fire and contents restoration projects.
  • Partner with Business Development, Mitigation, Reconstruction, and other departments to create cross-selling opportunities.
  • Educate internal teams on recognizing and referring fire and contents restoration opportunities.
  • Manage project revenue, profitability, job costing, and gross profit.
  • Review Xactimate estimates for accuracy and manage supplements and change orders throughout each project.
  • Identify and capture all appropriate supplemental opportunities.
  • Monitor budgets, production schedules, and project costs to ensure financial success.
  • Ensure timely documentation, billing, invoicing, and project closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the restoration process.
  • Build trust with customers by providing clear communication, professionalism, and compassion during the restoration process.
  • Maintain consistent communication with homeowners, business owners, insurance adjusters, and referral partners.
  • Conduct customer walkthroughs, address concerns promptly, and ensure complete customer satisfaction from the first call through the final walkthrough.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance expectations and promote high-quality workmanship.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to improve processes and strengthen the Fire Cleaning & Contents service line.
