About The Position

Bureau Veritas is seeking applicants for the position of Fire Assayer (casual leading to permanent). The role is based at Malaga, WA and involves using specialized equipment and performing manual handling tasks to prepare samples. This role has the potential to provide exposure to other departments and mineral testing processes, including fire assay analysis, sample weighing, and preparation.

Requirements

  • Reliable and keen to work
  • Physically fit, prepared to carry out manual tasks
  • Ability to follow set procedures and good attention to detail
  • Willing to work as part of a team with a high focus on quality & safety
  • Able to work around hot furnaces, repetitive physical tasks but not overly heavy
  • Regular blood testing (due to Worksafe requirements - safe lead levels requires males only in this position)
  • Must be able to pass a medical which includes a drug and alcohol test and routine blood testing.

  • Veterans (Defence experience is desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Weigh samples for analysis
  • Fluxing, firing, knock-up and cupellation of samples
  • Ensure correct procedures are used and adhered to
  • Follow QHSE procedure
