Under general supervision, performs highly skilled mechanical work in the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of specialized Fire and Rescue Department apparatus, fire pumps, aerial ladders, breathing apparatus, small engines, and related equipment. This position is considered an essential employee and operates on a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage. Responds to emergency incident scenes, which may include working after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, with both scheduled and unscheduled overtime potentially required.
