Requirements

• Four years of experience in fire fighting or fire prevention work
• Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• Meet the PA residency requirement
• Able to perform essential job functions
• Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire safety instruction for staff including evacuation and prevention techniques
• Inspect and maintain fire hydrants detectors alarms pumps and sprinklers
• Perform fire safety checks of all areas to identify and correct hazards
• Run fire drills in resident buildings and maintain required records
• Investigate fires and alarms to determine causes and prepare reports
• Act as disaster site commander and direct safety operations during emergencies
