About The Position

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Fire and Life Safety Technician. This role, under general supervision, involves conducting fire drills, and ensuring the maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection of hospital fire and life safety systems are compliant with current fire and safety codes. The position also performs fire prevention/planning, develops and conducts fire and life safety training for hospital employees, and performs related duties as required. The official title for this position is ARMC Safety Technician.

Requirements

• OPTION 1: Three (3) years of experience in fire prevention, fire inspection, fire protection systems, fire code enforcement, fire suppression systems, life safety compliance, or a related fire service or fire protection field.
• OPTION 2: Three (3) years of experience in an acute care hospital or healthcare environment with responsibilities related to Environment of Care, Life Safety, Facilities Management, accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, fire and life safety inspections, building systems, or healthcare operations.
• An associate’s degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Technology, Occupational Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field can substitute for 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts fire drills.
• Ensures the maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection of hospital fire and life safety systems are compliant with current fire and safety codes.
• Performs fire prevention/planning.
• Develops and conducts fire and life safety training for hospital employees.
• Performs related duties as required.
