About The Position

MCS is hiring for a Fire Alarm Technician (Siemens Fire Alarm Experienced) in Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The Fire Alarm Technician must demonstrate their adaptability by being able to install multiple types of devices, read prints, and follow the directions and assignments given to them by the Site Superintendent/PM. The Fire Alarm Technician will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • FASA/BASA Certification
  • Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge
  • Siemens Fire Alarm Experienced
  • Minimum of 5 years of Fire Alarm System experience, including programming and configuration of Siemens systems.
  • Proficiency with NFPA 72, Life Safety Code 101, and IBC.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial.
  • Must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.

  • Familiarity with a wide range of fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, FCI-Gamewell, Simplex, Notifier, EST) is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operation manuals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize productivity and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Install, pull, terminate, test, and troubleshoot cables and vendor products.
  • Configure, program, and commission new life safety systems.
  • Document commissioning details and communicate project progress and deficiencies.
  • Ensure adherence to NFPA, Local AHJ codes, corporate policies, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Perform test and inspections of fire alarm and related systems.
  • Set up and manage monitoring accounts for fire and security systems.
  • Respond to service calls, including fire alarm systems, ERCES/BDA, card access, CCTV, intrusion, and nurse call systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
