Requirements

  • NICET Level I - IV certification with experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm system design, configuration, and operational requirements.
  • Familiarity with various fire alarm panels and devices.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly explaining complex systems.
  • High level of attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work in various environments and ascend ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • All roles require a drug screening.
  • Depending on the position, additional checks may be necessary. These can include a background check, credit check, and/or a physical examination, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Install various types of fire alarm systems, including wiring, devices, and control panels, according to engineering specifications and compliance with local, state, and national codes.
  • Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs of fire alarm systems to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and make recommendations for system enhancements.
  • Conduct detailed testing and commissioning of new and existing fire alarm systems to ensure they meet all requirements and function correctly.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation including service reports, testing logs, and compliance forms.
  • Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Provide high-quality customer service, offering clear communication and feedback about the status and safety of their systems.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure their satisfaction with services provided.
  • Stay updated with the latest fire protection codes and standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Share knowledge and assist in training junior technicians.
