Elite Fire Services is currently hiring a Technician Apprentice for the Fire Alarm division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand trade. We will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Alarm Technician. We are looking for hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that with training, certification and years of quality hard work.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license with 3 or less points is required.
  • Three years of licensed driving experience is required.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools.
  • Willing to work varied hours, nights, early morning and weekend shift when needed.
  • Capable and willing to learn and study about the different alarm systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12ft and on lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and installation of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, emergency and exit lighting, backflow prevention, and commercial kitchen and hood suppression systems.
  • Learn and study about the different alarm systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
  • Communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
  • Write detailed write-ups on service work.
  • Keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
