About The Position

Piper Electric, a Crete United Company, is seeking a Fire Alarm Superintendent to support and grow its fire alarm division. This role will have a strong focus on a major plant upgrade project with an expected duration of 2+ years. The position is ideal for an experienced Superintendent in fire alarm systems looking for long-term, stable project work with the opportunity to lead field execution from early phases through completion. The company is also open to considering a top-performing Foreman ready to take the next step.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in fire alarm installation on commercial or industrial projects.
  • Current Colorado Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and fire alarm system installation practices.
  • Exposure to system programming, testing, and commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, riser diagrams, and submittals.
  • Experience working in industrial or plant environments is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across field teams and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field execution of fire alarm system installations on a large-scale plant upgrade project.
  • Supervise crews installing conduit, wiring, devices, panels, and networked systems in an active industrial environment.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, and other trades to maintain schedule and jobsite flow.
  • Review drawings, submittments, and layouts to ensure compliance with NFPA 72, NEC, and all applicable state and local (AHJ) requirements, including coordination with fire inspectors and jurisdictional authorities.
  • Manage manpower planning, material coordination, and jobsite logistics across multiple phases of the project.
  • Support system programming, testing, and final commissioning in coordination with inspectors and AHJs.
  • Maintain strong leadership on-site with a focus on safety, quality, and accountability in a live plant setting.
  • Assist in mentoring and developing field technicians and junior leaders.
