Fire Alarm Service and Installation Technician
About The Position
The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Work is performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).
Nice To Haves
- FASA/BASA or higher preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, service, and installation of fire alarm systems independently.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
- Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
- Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
- Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
- Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
- Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
- Travel to job sites as required.
- Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
