About The Position

As an outside fire alarm systems sales representative, you will be responsible for generating new installation projects for alarm systems through electrical contractors and end users. In addition to installation sales, you will be responsible for securing the monitoring/service contract following the installation. Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably in the fire protection and life safety systems industry.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with potential customers.
  • Technical aptitude and a keen interest in learning about fire alarm systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Self-motivated, results driven mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify potential customers through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, referrals, and online research.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and site evaluations to understand customers fire protection requirements and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals that showcase the benefits and features of our products.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, property managers, and other key decision makers in the fire safety industry.
  • Prepare accurate and negotiate terms and pricing to secure profitable contracts while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Maintain a well-organized sales pipeline, track sales activities, and provide regular updates to management on progress and forecasts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in fire protection to effectively advise customers and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Provide exceptional pre-sale support to customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth transition during system implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project managers, technicians, and customer service representatives, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics set by management, demonstrating commitment to driving revenue growth and expanding Silco’s market presence.
